At this juncture in my life, I have been deliberating and contemplating on what it means to be a man, values of a man and what is a “good” man.
Life has taught me the following:
- A man must provide, protect and love his family.
- A man does what is necessary, regardless if he feels like it or not.
- To be a “good” man, a man must be dangerous, meaning he must be able to protect his loved ones and himself no matter the cost. He must be skilled in the art of fighting and self defense.
- A man must serve and be helpful to his loved ones and those in his community.
- A man must be physically strong. Have a fit body to use in everyday life and to protect his family and loved ones.
- A man must be mentally strong. He must have the ability to withstand life’s trials, tribulations and challenges. Because adversity will strike.
- A man must be spiritually strong.
- Resilient when faced with hardship and difficult times. Have “bounce-back-ability”, unbreakable will and an unbreakable mindset.
- Mission. Goals. Ambition.
- Purpose.
- Leader.
- Lion amongst sheep.
- Wise.
- Be a man of action. Speak less do more. Let your actions speak for itself.
- Be proud of the man in the mirror.
Ultimately, each man will have his own values. These are just mine.
