Create More, Consume Less

Create more, consume less.

This Maxim has been ringing in my mind very loudly lately.

Reason being, I have just been on a one week journey back to my homeland, Junbesi, Solukhumbu.

While in my village, we had limited internet connection and so I was not able to get much work done. Also, since I was there on vacation I decided to connect with my family, nature and not use my phone and laptop as much.

But, now that I’m back, I have returned to my work with a new vigor, excitement and heightened level of focus.

I have been on a wonderful streak of creation – from publishing blog posts, applying to high commission affiliate programs, to posting youtube videos, managing my coaches in the states, renting out Basketball Gyms in the states, and more.

That time off was time I did not realize I needed. The short “sabbatical” has allowed me to recharge, refresh and have a crystal clear vision of where I’d like to devote my time, energy and focus.

After, returning to my work here are more mementos running through my mind:

  1. Signal over noise.
    • Focus on the few areas that will enrich my life – mind (read more), soul (writing on this blog), societal contribution + bank account (revenue generating activities).
  2. Stillness.
    • “Solitude breeds greatness”.
    • When I am still I can truly connect with my deeper, true self.
    • I am influenced by my own desires, not others.
    • I can process information and get clarity on my next moves.
    • When I am still, I regain my energy, confidence and love for myself.
    • I conserve energy, with no wasted movement, and can make wiser decisions.
  3. Simple.
    • Simplicity scales, complexity fails.
  4. Avoid Information overload.

Mirage of productivity, when all you’re doing is procrastinating and avoiding the actual work to achieve what you want.

Don’t get me wrong, there is a base amount of research needed to achieve certain things, however, if you go over that base, you bleed into information overload, unnecessary learning, and essentially procrastination.

Put simply, you are scared of actually “trying”, taking the risk and falling on your face if it fails.

The awesome thing I learned though, is that there is no such thing as failure.

“Failure”, as we call it, is simply feedback or a lesson to iterate your approach. It’s basically the universe telling you that it’s not the way and you must try a different method to achieve your goal.

Thus, you either succeed or you learn.

Here I am publicly vowing until my last breath to create more and consume less.

Let us all continue to create more and consume less if your goal is to positively impact humanity and contribute to our collective human consciousness.
