Do Hard Things

Tis the Winter Season. And for my Invincilete Sports Academy Skills Training business that means it’s our slower season. The reason is because of the weather, our players being occupied with Basketball practices, games, etc. And so I have been thinking of ways to add an additional stream of income via leveraging the internet. After much deliberating, I landed upon “Options Trading.” However, as someone new to options trading I had to become a student once again and start at ground zero. Therefore, I did the “hard thing” and studied, watched 300+ youtube videos at 2x speed, read pdfs, followed discord channels, spoke in person to successful options traders.

But then something happened.

At the end of a week and a half of hard core studying I felt my brain turn to mush, I got ancy and was ready to begin trading and executing all that I had learned.

On top of that, I had not been training my players since they had practices, games and were thus, unavailable.

Long story short, I felt like this “stuck energy”, frustrated and NEEDED to do something hard.

And so I began with lifting my heavy weights at home.

From there, I began training my players once again.

I then did two sessions, hosted my son’s 5th birthday party with my wife at a kids’ play place ironically named, “Extreme Energy” in Englewood, New Jersey.

And boy was I back!

Look, if you’re anything like me you are a type A, goal driven, athlete, who needs to be moving, growing and chasing after a worthy pursuit.

And honestly, I had not been making much money myself and neither was my team due to the weather and coach’s calling out.

But once I began hitting the weights hard, made money again training my clients, and getting some hard things done, I felt like a man again, felt like a provider, and all around felt like I was fulfilling my duty once again.

I’ll leave you with this:

As humans we were designed to be wild, hunt, gather food, survive, produce offspring, live in nature, socialize amongst each other and repeat the cycle of spreading our genes to the next generation.

With that in mind, I hope you can see in order to dance beautifully with our fundamental genetic makeup, habits and tendencies it is in our best interest to do “hard things”.

I am fully aware that not everything has to be hard and neither should it.

I mean we have evolved to become the apex predator and one of the most intelligent and accomplished species on the planet.

What I am saying is, from my own experience, it has served my mind, body and soul well by creating what I like to call, “controlled chaos.” Meaning I attack my mission, purpose, goals with vigor and all of my life force energy.

For instance, I clean my house, organize my belongings, lift heavy weight, run until I am out of breath, sweat everyday, face my life problems head on, face my business problems head on, eat healthy, do things I do not want to do but know deep down they will serve me in the future. In essence, I am living how we, as humans, were designed to be.

I am trying my best to push myself to my maximum potential and in turn I am striving to push our humans species to our maximum potential.

As one man, that is all I can do. But the part affects the whole. And so we each are contributing to our collective human consciousness and evolution by living to our highest potential.
