The Secret Power of Show-Up-Ability (TLDR: You Achieve Want You Want)

Just showing up is a secret to winning more.

In fact, it’s actually more than half the battle. By just showing up, you are 80% of the way there and the remaining 20% is literally a layup.

I can’t tell you how many times how many times just showing up has created so much opportunity just from sheer serendipity, luck and just being the right place at the right time.

As a father, Husband, Basketball Trainer, fitness trainer, many days I’m exhausted and running on E. What in those times when I am dead, tired, I somehow muster the energy to show up, deliver for my client, and that has led to more connections, more referrals, more money, and overall more impact.

Funny enough, the art of showing up is just that, an art.

It is as if I have as David Goggins, like to say, “calloused my mind”. I’d like to add that I have also calloused my body by training all my life, and putting it through so much suffering, progressive over the training, discipline, and just simply building overall strength and mastering the fundamentals of strength and conditioning training.

More importantly, however, just showing up has been crucial in most beneficial in my family life. By just showing up for my family, especially when I’ve had a long day, had many sessions, I had written so much that my brain turns to mush, I somehow find it in my mind, body and soul to get up and show up with positive energy, love, and an excitement to enjoy the moment with my wife and son. For example, we often go on long trips as a family and just last week, we made a plan to go to Belmar Beach here in South Jersey. And that week I had 4 to 5 training sessions every day all I wanted to do it was just relax. But my family wanted to have a fun beach day together and so I said let’s do it.

I got up the next day, packed our cooler, waters, food, bags, boogie boards, towels, and lotion, tent, tablecloth to sit on and many other things. We packed the car and had an amazing summer day at the beach.

When I write this to you, I’m currently at Laurel Hill Park right here in Secaucus, New Jersey. I had a training session earlier today, took my son to target to Walmart. I’ve been driving around, did more work on the laptop, and just wanted to sit down and relax and have my own time. But my son said, “daddy let’s go to the park.” to which I responded, “sure, let’s do it”. So here we are.

So my intention with writing this post was just to share with you, the power of showing up and how it has tremendously benefited me, my family, my business, and  my life.

Help my experiences, words, and results may have given you just a bit of inspiration, when you’re dead, tired, exhausted, feel you have no more to give or do, to just…

Show up.
