The Power of Momentum

Momentum is like Einstein’s idea of the 8th wonder of the world. Momentum is also very similar to habits, in that, you do something over and over and it’s like you’re almost being pulled to take action instead of having to push yourself, which is 100 times harder, more tiring and more stressful.

I’ve known about the power of momentum since I was young. I would complete an assignment or make a shot in Basketball and want to keep going to complete another assignment or shooting another shot.

Into my adulthood, however, I’ve come to feel the signifance and impatct momentum has on my life.

Specifically, exactly 7 days ago I was literally on fire. I was waking up at the same time, writing 1,000+ words everyday, publishing on Medium.com, working on my newseletter, working on my ebooks, eating at the same time, applying 4-5 hours of “deep work” everyday.

But, it all came to a crashing halt, last week. I had lost focus and had gotten distracted. This lost of focus took me 7 days to recover and finally get back to writing consistently.

So today marks the 7th day and I am back to writing.

What does this have to do with momentum?

Well, for starters, I woke up relatively early today, and went straight into my daily habit of prayer in the morning, 21 minute meditation, 5 minutes of breathing exercises and now that I am back in a loving, relaxed and abundant state, the words are flowing on this page.

This is the power of momentum. These past 7 days I had every opportunity to write, but there was the drive and focus inside of me that was missing. I also did not stick to my habits. Therefore, I had no desire to write, no focus and no momentum.

Now with this new found momentum, I feel supercharged. With this rush of dopamine from finally writing again, it will be a dominoe effect and “Mother Momentum” will kick into high gear.

I must take advantage of this momentum because once lost it will take very long to regain. And in this state of high creativity, high output and high value it is necessary I harness it and use it for good to help you all.

As humans, we are creatures of habit. Habits act as pillars in our life. Once established, these habit pillars will elevate us to a higher state we thought was once reserved for intellectuals or the elite. But wrong, it is available for anyone who has the ability to create powerful, productive habits into their life and who also has the burning desire to embrace the power of momentum to help them succeed in their endeavors.

Scientific definition of momentum. Friction, inertia.

“An object in motion will tend to stay in motion. An object at rest will tend to stay at rest.” Decide to stay in motion and you will be amazed by what you can achieve.

Where do I start?

Start with completing one small task on your list everyday. Do this everyday. After the second week, complete two things per day. The third week, complete three important things on your list. And so on.

Soon, you will find your self unrecognizable. You will have accomplished double or even triple what you had when you started this journey. You will be on another level of productivity.

From there, I encourage you to pay it forward and help another person.

Again, the power of momentum should not be taken lightly, for it hast the power to lift any man or woman to the highest status of their choosing.

Would you rather push a huge boulder up a hill or down a hill? Exactly, that is the power of momentum.
