Flow

Flow.

Just flow.

When you are in a flow state it is pure bliss.

There is nothing or no one that can bother you.

You are just there, doing what it is that you are doing.

Laser focused and in a playful state. You are simply at peace and as Mihaly Chezentmiahly says “when in flow, you are in a state of happiness”.

I experienced this beautiful state yesterday while playing Basketball. I usually record myself playing since I aspire to inspire athletes take their games to the next level.

Yesterday, I felt like just ballin and jamming to my music with my EarPods on.

So I did.

And what happened next was amazing.

I went through my normal form shooting, then 7 spot shooting.

But once I started freestyling and just flowing allowing any moves to come out and shooting from any which way and anywhere on the court I was free. I stopped being in my head and just let my creativity take me to wherever it wanted to.

It was just pure joy.

Whether I missed or made a shot didn’t matter but the funny thing is I wasn’t missing.

Everything felt so right. My form, my fluid one motion shooting, my handles, my carefree yet confident body language just oozed out in a humble yet fully confident way like “yeah I’m out here just training, minding my own business, but you and everyone on this court knows I got game and am the best motherfucker on this court.”

But man my step backs were falling, I wasn’t getting tired, I felt a spring in my step and was just so happy.

Not only was I working on my game, but I was working on my game, getting better, getting more in shape, more ripped and playing at such a high level that everything was just working.

You see players don’t always experience this but those who can simply lock in and allow themselves to just flow will experience this. It is a beautiful experience and one that I wish everyone can experience.

There is truly nothing like it.

So I encourage you in any area of your life to get in a state of flow, in a state of pure bliss, and just be.

Don’t be so disciplined all the time in your routine and just allow yourself to run free. Get out of your own way. It’s something that words do not do justice and must be experienced to fully comprehend.

Wishing you all to just flow and find peace and happiness in your flow.

Please share your experience below of “flow” and let us all continue to “just flow”.

Much love,

Sonam
