Just Do The Next Small Thing You Can Do. That’s All. (Keep Going. Go Slow, But Keep Going)

When life looks bleak, just do the next small thing you can do. That’s all. Keep going. Go slow, but keep going.

In life, there will be moments where you feel all hope is lost, you have no more energy, nothing else to give.

In those moments, you close your eyes, take a deep breath in and a deep breathe out.

With your eyes still closed, think. No, I mean really think about what next smallest thing you can do to make “progress” on whatever goal you are seeking to achieve.

I don’t care how small the next step is. If that means going to take a sh*t then so be it. Or cleaning your work space, walking outside to get into nature, or writing one word in your rough draft for your book, so be it.

Now, open your eyes and do that small thing.

Done?

Great, you’ve achieved something. You took 1 small step in the right direction.

Now, can you next small task can you get done in the next few minutes?

If you can’t do it or don’t have energy for it cool, you’re done for the day.

If you’re up for it, then lets tackle that next small task shall we?

Done?

Awesome! You’ve gotten TWO THINGS DONE on your list! Let’s freakin go!

How about a THIRD small task?

Getter’ done.

Finished?

Bro, you’re a beast!

Ok, now everyday let’s try to knock out the smallest tasks on our list that will get us one step closer toward our goals.

This will allow us to implement the law of compounding.

And remember, don’t beat yourself up.

Have grace and patience with yourself.

You’re all you’ve got.

You and yourself are a team.

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with one small step.”

You. Got. This.

Love,

Sonam
